Welcome to Salt Spring Island Rowing Club, where over six decades of rowing history on St. Mary Lake meet the future of the sport!

Our club is home to a competitive rowing program for young athletes, with crews that compete at the national level each year.

We also have a thriving masters (adult) program that continues to grow annually. In addition, we’re proud to host one of the longest coastal endurance regattas of its kind: Race Around the Rock.

Whether you're an aspiring athlete or just curious about rowing, there's a place for you in our community!

RAR 2026 was a huge success!

Race Around the Rock is the signature 88-kilometre coastal endurance relay regatta hosted by the Salt Spring Island Rowing Club.

It's a full circumnavigation of Salt Spring Island for adult, junior and mixed crews racing coastal and open-water shells.

We offer drop-in rates for experienced rowers visiting Salt Spring Island

Experienced visiting rowers are now able to purchase a 1, 5 or 10 x row Punch Card. We're proud to make rowing on St Mary lake more accessible to more athletes without requiring a membership subscription.
